Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable adjustment of a electrometer without using any outside meters by a method wherein the output of the surface electrometer is converted into a digital value and processed within a computer and is indicated in a LED on the basis of the designation.
CONSTITUTION: In the electrometer which detects the surface electric potential of a photosensitive drum for a reproducing device and the like 47, a chopper 83 is rotated by a motor 82 and synchronizing signals are outputted from the LED 84 and a phototransistor 87, while a surface electrocharge signl is outputted from an electrod 85. And, these signals are inputted in the computer CT7 built in an A/D converter and processed there, driving an indication circuit CT10 consisting of a group of LEDs, and are sent to a means for adjusting the surface electric potential. Accordingly, the electric potential can be inspected without using an outside voltmeter and the like and the electrometer can easily be adjusted by the output obtained through the intermediary of a level converting circuit CT9.
