Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an objective lens from being broken by impact by the external object on a stage by providing a switch which operates when it touches the external object to the objective lens.
CONSTITUTION: An insulating member 7 is held secured to the outside circumference of an objective lens 6, and a conductive protecting inside plate 9 and protecting outside plate 10 are provided to the other end of a holding spring 8 fixed thereto. The protecting inside plate 9 and protecting outside plate 10 are connected to a buzzer 11 and an electric power source 12 respetively by way of cords. In the case of inspecting the specimen 1, the objective lens 6 goes extremely closely to the specimen 1 in the case of a high magnification, but before the objective lens 6 contacts the specimen 1, the protecting outside plate 10 and protecting inside plate 9 abut on the specimen 1, and an alarm by a buzzer 11 is given, whereby the damaging of the objective lens 6 may be prevented.
