Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the amount of toner replenishiment proper by making toner replenishment in a fixed time, and enabling the toner to be replenished at every fixed time intermittently even when the state that a sensor is detecting the decrease of the toner concentration is being continued. CONSTITUTION:Light emitting element and photodetector 8a, 8b are disposed near a liquid feed pipe 5 so as to oppose to each other with said pipe as a center, and these elements 8a, 8b constitute a concentration sensor 8 which detects the concentration of the toner of the developing soln. which is transferred in the pipe 5. The liquid feed pipe 5 near this sensor 8 is so constituted as to have light transmittance. The light of the light emitting element 8a is irradiated to the developing soln. in the pipe 5, and the quantity of the light incident to the photodetector 8b differs according to the toner concentrations. The sensor 8 applies an output to a control unit 9 according to the concentrations. A toner vessel 11a containing the liquid toner is disposed above the developing tank 3, with its mouth part faced downward. Thereby, the amount of the toner replenishment may be made proper.
