Abstract

PURPOSE:To output a signal while a piezoelectric electronic switch is depressed, by using voltage pulses, differing in polarity, generated at the depression start and depression end of the piezoelectric electronic switch as depression-start and depression-end signals. CONSTITUTION:With piezoelectric body 1 depressed through key operation A, detection electrode 2 generates piezoelectric pulse B1 at the start of the depression. Pulse B1 is amplified 3 and converted into a required voltage level, which is applied as a depression-start signal to latch circuit 4 of the signal generating circuit, where it is set to start the generation of output C. On the other hand, voltage pulse B2 of the opposite polarity generated by electrode 2 at the end of the depression is amplified 5 and converted into a required voltage level, which is supplied as a depression-end signal to circuit 4, which is reset to stop the generation of output C. Thus, the waveform shaping device can be obtained which continues to generate output C without fail while piezoelectric body 1 is being depressed. Using depletion and enhancement MOSFETs for the waveform shaping circuit makes it possible to operate the circuit with a single electric power source.
