Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain arbitrary field rate without regard to the conducting rate of a chopper by connecting an auxiliary thyristor in parallel with a series field system which is connected in parallel with the armature of a main motor, and controlling the thyristor.
CONSTITUTION: In the system, wherein the field current of the main motor which receives the overhead line current from a current collector 1 is controlled by a chopper and sent out, the auxiliary thyristor 100 is added in parallel with series field system 6 which is connected in parallel with the armature. The current is supplied to the field system 6 only during the period the chopper 10 is turned off. The field system 6 is shorted by the ignition of the auxiliary thyristor 100, and the exciting energy is not supplied to the field system 6. In this constitution, since the energy is not supplied to the circuit which is connected in parallel with the field systems 6 under the state the chopper is turned on, the auxiliary thyristor is automatically deignited and the commutation device is not requied. The field rate of the main motor can be arbitrarily adjusted without regard to the conducting rate of the chopper, and the field rate can be decreased lower than the weakest field rate.
