Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to effect a high-speed printing with a simple mechanism by a method wherein a plurality of dots are arranged in rows on a printing head in a transversal direction with a specified pitch and the printing is effected by traversing this head specified times while traversing the same into a reversed direction after a paper feeding is effected. CONSTITUTION:A head H is constituted by arranging a plurality of dots 1A, 1B,... in a transversal row with a pitch (NXP) which is N (N is an integer) times of a pitch P of dots consisting printing letters. In case the printing is effected by utilizing this head H, 1+5Nth column of first row of printing letters of total digit are printed upon a first operation. Subsequently, the head H is traversed to the right by a pitch P of the dots consisting the printing letters to print 2+5Nth column upon a second operation. These operations are repeated 5 times and the printing of the dots in respective first rows of total digits is finished. Next, a paper feeding is effected, thereafter, the printing of the dots in the second column is effected. In this case, the printing is effected by traversing the head H into the left direction.
