Abstract

PURPOSE:Both to prevent the ink from leaking by suppressing movement of the ink in a nozzle tip when ink jetting is being suspended, and to prevent a backward flow of the ink and therefore formation of bubbles due to a backflow of the ink, by suppressing movement of the ink between a nozzle liquid chamber and a supply tank. CONSTITUTION:In the fluid printer wherein ink fine particles are jetted from a thin nozzle and an ink having magnetic and fluid properties is employed, when ink jetting is being suspended, electromagnets 8 provided on a tip of the nozzle 7 are energized so that by the generated magnetic field the magnetic ink is fixed to the nozzle tip and therefore the ink is prevented from leaking outside. Further, magnets 9 are provided on an ink supply port of the fluid chambe 5 communicating with the nozzle 7. When the magnets 9 are being energized, the ink is prevented from flowing backward to the supply tank 3, so that generation of the bubbles is prevented.
