Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep an appropriate air-fuel ratio independently of the composition of fuel and to thereby prevent degradation in the exhaust-gas purifying performance of an engine, by providing a control means for changing the reference voltage of a comparator in response to a predetermined value of the output voltage of an integrator.
CONSTITUTION: When the output voltage of an integrator 18 is lowr than a reference voltage Va, the output of a comparator 25 is kept at zero, so that a reference voltage Vb1 is applied from a reference power source 28 to an inverted terminal of a comparator 17 via a switching element 27. Since pulses from an air-fuel ratio sensor 11 are thus compared with a lower reference voltage Vb1, the rising time of output pulses of comparator 17 is determined relatively promptly at the inclined side along which rises the pulses from sensor 11 and the end of the rising period of the output voltage of integrator 18 is also determined relatively promptly. Therefore, it is enabled to prevent rising of the output voltage of integrator 18.
