Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the toner owing to developing and minimize the scattering of the developer by performing sequence controlling in such a manner that, when the nonimaging part of a photoreceptor comes to a developing part, the turning of a developer supply member is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: In a developing device which develops the electrostatic latent images on an electrophotographic receptor 1 to sensible images by means of a turning developer supply member 2 provided with a developer moving member 3, sequence controlling is performed in such a manner that, just before the exposure part of the photoreceptor 1 comes to a developing time (a time for moving at an angle α) upon entering a copying period, the driving of a sleeve 2 is started to rotate the sleeve 2 only for the time until the exposure part passes the developing part, whereby the drawback of causing the deterioration of the toner by reiterating the sticking and scraping of the toner to and from the sleeve may be eliminated because the sleeve is not driven for the nonimage part of the photoreceptor 1.
