Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to process large-quantity information in a high speed without addition and reconstruction of software and hardware, by using a paper tape data signal to transmit and receive information between the magnetic tape device and the computer.
CONSTITUTION: When the paper tape data output is requested to paper tape output device interface 4, the interface 4 converts output data in memory 2 to a paper tape data signal and outputs it to paper tape signal-magnetic tape signal conversion part 9. Gonversion part 9 converts this signal to a magnetic tape data signal. Magnetic tape driving part 11 receives the magnetic tape data signal through magnetic tape control part 10 and records it onto the magnetic tape. On the other hand, when the paper tape data input is requested to input device interface part 5, driving part 11 reads out the signal recorded on the magnetic tape. Conversion part 9 receives this signal through control part 10 and converts it to the paper tape signal and outputs it to interface part 5. Interface part 5 stores this signal in memory 2.
