Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the liquid leakage of a thin nonaqueous-electrolyte battery by welding positive collector ring having a ringlike resing wall to the bottom of a positive-electrode can, and applying a sealing agent to the surface of the outer wall of the ring and the inner wall of the positive-electrode can which touch a gasket. CONSTITUTION:A holding body 3, which also serves as a positive collector and has a ringlike rising wall, is welded to the inner bottom of a positive-electrode can 1. A gasket 9 is interposed in the space 11 which is formed between the outer wall of the holding body 3 and the inner wall of he positive-electrode can 1. At this point, a sealing agent 2 is applied to at least one of the inner wall of the positive- electrode can 1 and the outer wall of the holding body 3 which touch the gasket 9. The lower end of the ringlike holding body 3 is inwardly curved to be a flange 3a, and the flange 3a may be welded to the positive-electrode can 1. The welded flange 3a can block the flow of the sealing plate along the inner bottomsurface of the positive-electrode can into the bottom of the positive mixture. Accordingly, a sealing agent can be used for tightly sealing the gasket 9 and the positive-electrode can 1, and the liquid leakage of the battery can be prevented.
