PURPOSE:To obtain a dry-charged alkaline storage battery which can be easily carried by reducing the concentration of pottasiumhydroxide electrolyte which is contained in the battery, and pouring an electrolyte of a given concentration which can compensate the deficiency of pottasium hydroxide before using the battery. CONSTITUTION:An assembled element is constituted by using a cadmium-hydroxide negative-plate, a nickel-hydroxide positive-plate and a separating plate which is interposed between these two plates, and it is placed in a container. Next, 150% of the battery capacity is charged by using a pottasium-hydroxide electrolyte having a concentration of 269g/l, and all the other electrolyte than which is held in the assembled element is removed. After that, purified water is poured into the con tainer to reduce the pottasium-hydroxide concentration of the electrolyte to 132g/l, the electrolyte of the reduced concentration is removed, and the battery is sealed. An electrolyte with a pottasium-hydroxide concentration of 295g/l should be poured into the container before using the battery.
