Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the shock resistance and at the same time reduce the variance of the frequency, by forming nearly an L-shape between the oscillation foot and the base part by the quartz thin plate and then securing an adhesion for the thin plate at the base part with no overlap caused among the feet. CONSTITUTION:Both the oscillation foot 10 and the base part 11 are cut out of a sheet of the quartz plate and into nearly an L-shape. And at the same time, the oscillation foot 12 and the base part 13 are cut out into an adverse L-shape respectively. These feet and base parts have the different cutting angles to the crystal axis. Then these two thin pieces of crystal are jointed together through the adhering parts 14 and 15 provided on the opposite surfaces of both base parts and with no overlap between the both feet. As a result, the bending stress of the feet is not concentrated at the base part but decentralized to avoid an easy breakdown of the oscillation plate and thus obtain a high shock resistance. Furthermore, the formation by the etching increases the accuracy of form as well as decrease the variance of frequency. And then the temperature characteristics can be improved by securing the different cutting angles.
