Abstract

PURPOSE: To compensate the shortage of braking force for the whole car by a method wherein the control of the hydrualic pressure of one system is released when the other system causes failure, and same brake hydrualic pressures are applied to front and rear wheels.
CONSTITUTION: When a left system causes failure, hydraulic pressure functions only to the right of a plunger 3, and the plunger 3 and a controlling piston 5 move to the left until the rear end collides with a bottom of a blind hole 6. Since the plunger 3 and the piston 5 do not move relatively, a seal 16 is not inserted into an opening section of a cylinder 4 of the plunger 3 even when a piston 15 moves to the left, and input and output liquid chambers b1, b2 are communicated at all times in a right system, and connected to brakes for front and rear wheels from output ports 19, 20. When the right system causes failure, the piston 5 moves to the left until it contacts with a contacting lever 8 of the plunger 3, but does not move further by the pressure functioning to the plunger 3.
