Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the carbonization conditions of the titled oven and to improve its economical efficiency, without attaching a flow control means, etc. to the piping of the gas passing through a cooling chamber, by mixing the gas with a driving gas in an ejector, and controlling the temperature, flow rate and pressure of the driving gas.
CONSTITUTION: Coal briquettes 1 are charged in a carbonization chamber 5, and carbonized while descending in the chamber, with thermal medium gas for heating introduced into the chamber 5 through tuyeres 6 and 7. The carbonized coke 10 is cooled with a cooling gas flowing through an inlet 8 and an outlet 9, and discharged. The gas exhausted through the top of the chamber is cooled with coolers 11 and 12, and a part of the cooled gas is introduced into the system as circulation gas. A part of the circulation gas is sent to the cooling chamber 4 of the chamber 5, another part of the gas is heated in a heater 15 and introduced as the thermal medium gas into the chamber 5 through the tuyere 7, and the remaining part of the gas is sent to an ejector 18 after being controlled its pressure, flow rate and temperature by the blower 16, the flow control valve 27 and a heater 17. The cooled gas exhausted through the outlet 9 is sucked with the ejector 18, mixed with the driving gas, compressed, and fed to the chamber 5 through the tuyere 6 as the thermal medium gas.
