Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a cyanoacrylate composition useful as an adhesive, etc., having high adhesivity to a variety of adherends having various shapes, and giving improved impact resistance and peel resistance, by compounding an α-cyanoacrylate and a carboxylic acid having a perfluoroalkyl group.
CONSTITUTION: A cyanoacrylate-type instantaneous adhesive composition is prepared by compounding (A) an α-cyanoacrylate of formula I (R is hydrocarbon group) (e.g. ethyl α-cyanoacrylate) with (B) a carboxylic acid having a perfluoroalkyl group (e.g. a compound of formula II, III, etc.).
EFFECT: In contrast with conventional cyanoacrylate composition, the adhesive is capable of firmly bonding adherends such as metals or metal foils, e.g. aluminum, hard chrome, etc., and plastic films, etc.
