Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain muddy flocks of a lowered water content ratio by allowing muddy water to which a polymer flocculant and an inorg. flocculant have been added to flow down along a guide pass, forming flocks by the contact mixing action between the flocculants and muddy water during the flowing, and aging the flocks in a storage tank.
CONSTITUTION: Muddy water is fed to upper inlet 4 of guide apparatus 3, and simultaneously a soln. of a polymer flocculant and water soluble metal salts of Ca, Mg, Fe and Al as an inorg. flocculant in an acidic aqueous soln. is added from pipe 2. This mixed liq. flows down in apparatus 3 owing to its empty weight, and during this time the muddy water is mixed with the aqueous flocculant soln. and flocculated. The flocculated muddy water is discharged into storage tank 5 from outlet 4'. The flocks are stored in tank 5 for a fixed time and aged. While being aged, the flocks release water contained, and the resulting flocks of a lower water content ratio are fed to solid-liq. separating means 10 from discharge outlet 6 and dehydrated naturally.
