Abstract

PURPOSE: The crude fuel oil which has been separated from a waste mixed oil is vaporized by heating in a tightly closed vessel in a nonoxidizing atmosphere to regenerate fuel oil without danger of oxidative decomposition and explosion.
CONSTITUTION: Waste oil is fed through pressurizing means 2a and pipe 2b into separation means 3 in column 1 where impurity layer containing water and sludge 7a is separated from fuel oil layer 7b utilizing the difference in specific gravity. Further, impurities such as oil carbon or metal powders are precipitated to waste oil trap 3a at the bottom of the separation means and expelled through pipe 3c and valve 3d out of column 1. Meanwhile, a pair of electrode are made to oppose at the upper part of the column 1 and carbon particles as heat emitter 5d are filled between the electrodes 5b and 5b. The crude fuel oil of the layer 7b is fed into furnace 5 through capillaries 4 and vaporized in high-temperature zone 5f under nonoxidizing atmosphere and recovered with recovering means 6. Space 8 is filled with an inert gas and kept in nonoxidizing atmosphere.
