Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism of an annealing furnace and to prevent oxidation of a material to be annealed, by specifying the evacuated pressure of the furnace while supplying inert gas or reducing gas into the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The material 7 to be annealed is placed in a heating chamber 2 arranged at outside of an annealing furnace, then it is slidingly charged into the furnace body by means of rolls 8. When the furnace is evacuated by the operation of a vacuum pump 3 to 10<-3> Torr, which is indicated with a vacuum meter 10, a valve 11 attached to a pipe line 12 is opened in order to feed any one of inert gas such as Ar, He, N2, or any one of reducing gas such as DX gas, NAX gas, AX gas contained in a gas holder 13 while the vacuum pump 3 being operated. Hereby, the furnace is filled with inert or reducing atmospheric gas, and the material to be annealed is prevented from being oxidized even at 10<-3> Torr vacuum.
