Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a copying speed effectively by forming a picture on an original surface on a photoreceptor when the 1st and 2nd image-forming lenses are moved in one prescribed direction for scanning.
CONSTITUTION: When image-forming lenses 16 and 17 are moved from position A to position B for scanning, an original picture is formed on photosensitive drum 14 by slit exposure and during a return scan, the light is occluded, so that the image formation will not be done. Thus, image-forming lenses 16 and 17 contributes to the image forming operation by turns and while one lens is in process of image formation at an equal speed, the other is returned to set position A to get ready for the image forming operation immediately. Thus, continuous duplication is possible and the copying speed can be increased.
