Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a permanent magnet with superior residual magnetic flux density and superior coercive force by converting rare earth metals Pr and Sm, transition metals Co, Fe and Cu, and one or more among Ti, Zr, Nb, Hf and Ta into an intermetallic compound in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This intermetallic compound type permanent magnet is represented by general formula PrxSm1-x(Co1-α-β-γFeαCuβMγ)zo (where M is one or more among Ti, Zr, Nb, Hf and Ta, 0.05≤X≤0.6, 0.1≤α≤0.3, 0.05≤β≤0.1, 0.005≤ γ≤0.05 and 8.3≤Z≤9.0). This permanent magnet has high residual magnetism and a ≥3kOe coercive force.
