Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically assemble a unit of apiral electrode plates without causing a separator to be displaced by using a swirling-in jig having a keyhole-shaped notched portion for swirling in, holding the separator in the notched portion to supply a unit of electrode plates and revolving its winding center. CONSTITUTION:On an intermittently revolving main body, disk 1, a keyhole- shaped notched portion 11 for swirling-in is formed and a plurality of jigs 10 provided with a separator-holding mechanism 2b, which is adapted to retian thereon by vacuum suction a separator 2a cut at a fixed length by a cutting tool 4 are installed at different places. A pair of rods 13, 13' for forming the winding center are inserted into the notched portion 11, and a beltlike anode plate 16 is pushed into the notched portion 11 to be entered the winding center together with the separator 2a. After one revolution of the winding center, a cathode plate 20 is supplied and thereby the whole unit is wound spirally by a revolution of the winding center. Therefore displacement of the separator 2a may be avoided, thereby realizing an automatic assembly work of the unit of apiral electrode plates and improving the efficiency of the assembly work.
