Abstract

PURPOSE: To vaporize and remove Se from Se-contg. sodium sulfate at a high removing rate by heating the sodium sulfate and a specified additive.
CONSTITUTION: To 100wt% Se-contg. sodium sulfate discharged from a stack gas desulfurization process is added 10W100wt% NH4Cl or NH4Br or 5W25wt% (NH4)2SO4 as an additive, and they are heated at 300W600°C for 30minW2hr to vaporize and remove the Se from the sodium sulfate. By bringing the resulting Se-contg. gas into contact with water or an aqueous alkali soln., the Se can be recovered easily.
