Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain titled prepolymer which has a long curing time and forms a hydrated gel having an extremely low foam content, by masking a urethane prepolymer having at least two free -NCO groups with a specified heterocyclic compound.
CONSTITUTION: A urethane prepolymer having at least two free -NCO groups is obtained by reacting (i) a polyisocyanate such as 2,6-tolylene diisocyanate with (ii) a hydrophilic polyol such as an ethylene oxide addition polymer, MW 1,000W 20,000, in an eq. ratio, OH/NCO, of 0.5W1.0. Then, titled prepolymer is obtained by masking (A) the above urethane prepolymer with (B) a heterocyclic compound having a skeleton represented by the formula, such as imidazole or 2-methylimidazoline, in an eq. ratio, NH/NCO, of 0.2W2.
USE: Grouting material, hydrated gel-forming material, paint.
