Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a water permeability test of an inorganic laminar material in a short time by using a hollow lateral lying tube and a L letter type tube with a scale both of which are connected in being sealed to a vacuum pump. CONSTITUTION:A hollow lateral lying tube 2 in which flanges 5, 6 are installed at its horizontal opening part and a L letter type tube 3 which has a transparent vertical part marked with a scale are provided. And a sample 8 of an inorganic laminar material such as an inorganic ceiling plate, etc. is tightly held between flanges 5 and 6 and along with this, a vacuum pump 1 is closely connected with the hollow lateral lying tube 2 and after water is entered into the L letter type tube 3, the vacuum pump 1 is operated to make the inner part of the hollow lateral lying tube 2 in negative pressure and water in the L letter type tube 3 is permeated through the sample 8 to be sucked into the hollow lateral lying tube 2, thus, quantity of sucked water being read on a scale 7. With this, utilizing the load obtained from the vacuum pump 1, water permeability test is performed in a short time.
