Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve wow characteristics of an audio signal with simple constitution by varying the extent of delay of a delay circuit in an audio signal path by making use of a phase error voltage outputted by the phase comparator of a capstan servo system.
CONSTITUTION: The output of phase comparator 8 for a phase comparison between control and reference pulses, i.e. phase error voltage V2 from the capstan servo system is supplied to terminal T2 of filter 10, and standard voltage VS to terminal T3. The phase error voltage passed through filter 10 is supplied as a transfer clock to charge transfer device BBD, constituting delay circuit 12 of the audio signal path, by way of the next voltage control oscillator 11. Consequently, the extent of delay varies with the phase error voltage, the output of phase comparator 8, and in comparison with the period of control pulses in an audio signal, fluctuations of a low wow frequency component are corrected. This constitution is simplified, but can improve wow characteristics of the audio signal.
