Abstract

PURPOSE: To decompose pollution substances in a sewage for a short time in an enexpensive apparatus by arranging a microorganism attaching plate provided with many holes and containing many shell segments embedded between holes thereof in a sewage treating chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Many holes 10 are drilled in a microorganism attaching plate 8 and shell segments with a particle size of about 10W30mm are embedded between holes 10. This attaching plate 8 is set in a sewage treating chamber 3, air is supplied from an air diffusing pipe 7 attached to a bottom plate between the attaching plates 8 is injected to introducing air bubbles into a sewage as well as a sewage is whirled therein. Thereby, microorganisms are attached to shell segments 9 embedded in the attaching plate 8 and propagated thereon and a sewage is subjected to the biological treatment by this microorganisms and, after flowed out from the holes, moreover whirled by the next air diffusing pipe 7 and treated by the next attaching plate 8. This procedure is repeated many times to carry out the sewage treatment, but, because the propagation of microorganisms is high, pollution substances in water are decomposed for a short time.
