Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to efficiently suck up the water over an extensive area without clogging by providing a cylindrical casing filled with filtering material in the external circumference of the well point which is formed by covering the external circumference of an inflow pipe with a strainer cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: First, the main body of the well point for horizontal driving is horizontally drived into the truncated edge face under a shield engineering technique, etc. using a water jet. Next, a riser pipe 10 is connected to a header pipe for suction so that the inflow pipe 4 may be sucked internally. In this way, undergound water is sucked over the area required for excavation of the internal portion of a truncated edge face. The sucked water passes through the filtering material 12 from a water gathering aperture 13, entering into the pipe 4 through a water suction aperture 4a past a strainer cylinder. The same water sucking action takes place simultaneously in one piece of well point 1 and well points for connection 9 linked to the former. Thus the clogging of the strainer cylinder 5 is prevented to allow the efficient water suction.
