Abstract

PURPOSE: An adhesive composition with excellent cohesive force, adhesion and durability, which comprises a block copolymer compsed of a vinyl polymer block of glass transition temperature ≥20°C and a higher alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer block.
CONSTITUTION: A composition, comprising (i) 40W2wt% of a vinyl polymer block A of glass transition temperature ≥20°C (e.g., a polystyrene or a polymethyl methacrylate) and (ii) 60W98wt% of a (meth)acrylate copolymer block B of formula I or II (wherein R1 is a 4C or higher alkyl; R2 is a 8C or higher alkyl) (e.g., a 2-ethylhexyl acrylate-butyl acrylate copolymer), bonded in the form of (A-B-A)m or (A-B)n. A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is prepared by the application of the composition dissolved in a suitable solvent, to a base material, followed by drying.
