Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition capable of forming an improved flame retardant film without lowering storage stability, obtained by adding a specific bromine- substituted aromatic compound to a film-forming polymer comprising a vinyl acetate polymer, having a wide range of pH.
CONSTITUTION: The desired composition consisting of (A) one or more water dispersed film-forming polymer selected from the group consisting of a copolymer of vinyl acetate and vinyl ester of versatic acid, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl acetate, alkyd resin, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate, and/or polyvinyl chloride, (B) an organic additive, e.g., plasticizer, etc., and (C) a bromine-substituted aromatic compound. Decabromodiphenyl ether, hexabromodiphenyl ether, tribromophenol, hexabromobenzene, decabromodiphenyldibromoethene, and tetrabromoxylene may be cited as the ingredient C. A bromine content in the organic solid ingredient of the desired composition is made 2W35wt%.
