Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the power cable conductor temperature to be directly sensed by forming a thermocouple by using a pair of compensation lead wires provided for the power cable conductor, and drawing out a light output corresponding to the thermocouple electromotive force through a light guide. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple is formed by connecting a pair of compensation lead wires 2 of copper-constatan or the like provided for conductor 1 of a power cable 7 connectd to a jumper wire 11 or the like with insulators 8, conductor sleeve 9, and sleeve connector 10. Converting the thermocouple electromotive force into a light output by an electromotive force-to-light converter 12 permits the light output to be drawn out through a light guide 13, so that the temperature of the buried cable conductor of a junction portion or the like can be directly sensed by a light- to-electricity converter 14 or the like, and the temperature can be accurately measured.
