Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve film surface strength and a sliding property, by providing a high molecular material on the surface of the magnetic recording medium, where a ferromagnetic material vapor deposition thin film is provided on a nonmagnetic material substrate, by vapor deposition.
CONSTITUTION: A ferromagnetic material thin film consisting of a ferromagnetic metal such as Fe, Co and Ni, a magnetic alloy such as Fe-Ni and Co-Ni, an oxide magnetic matgerial such as γ-Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and CrO2, and so on is formed on a nonmagnetic material substrate consisting of polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, and so on by the vacuum vapor deposition method, the suppoirting method, and so on. Further, a high molecular material, which can be vapor-deposited, such as polyolefin, vinyl resin, vinylidene resin, polyester, polycarbonate, polyamide, and polyacrylonitrile is vapor-deposited to the surface.
