Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Acetylenic compound of formula I or II (R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is halogen, 1-hydroxy-1-lower alkylethyl; n is 0W1; a double bond is present or absent on the position shown by a dotted line).
USE: A fungicide for agriculture or horticulture: they especially show excellent activity against rice blast and Helminthosporium leaf spot and further injure no crops. The adequate concentration for treatment is 500W2,000ppm calculated as the active component.
PREPARATION: The reaction of an acetylenic compound of formula III with a halogen is effected in the presence of sodium hydroxide to produce a compound of formula I where R2 is halogen. Further, a carbonyl compound of formula IVis made to react with diacetylene in the presence of a base such as sodium amide to give a compound of formula II.
