Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise operativity and mass-productivity of grid by continuously notching a beltlike lead sheet while moving the sheet in the longitudianl direction by means of a given meshing machine and then subjecting it to a widthwise stretching and pressing process. CONSTITUTION:The lead or lead alloy beltlike sheet 2 is drawn out of the coiler 1, and then introduced into the processing machine E where undulatory surface and notches are formed in the sheet 2 by means of the meshing machines 4, 4', 5, 5' and 6, 6', consisting of a pair of the upper and lower processing rolls providing with three-staged flower-petal-like cutters and dies. Then, the beltlike sheet 2 is stretched in the widthwise direction by means of the the stretcher 7 to form meshes in the notched portions and then passed through a pair of the upper and lower pressing rollers 9 and 9' with smooth surfaces to correct distortions, deformation, curves, etc., to obtain the beltlike continuous expand grid 10. The flower petal-like cutter 12a has the cutting blade 14a and also the flower petal-like die 13a has the semicircular notched portion 15a.
