Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate sliding part between a rotator and a reverse rotation detector by providing the working medium generating sources provided to a static body and a shielding plate rotated by the rotator between said sources and the receivers opposing thereto thereby detecting the reverse rotation of the rotator.
CONSTITUTION: A barlike shielding plate 3 is projectively provided to a rotator 1 which is a rotary shaft or the like. On the other hand, generating sources 4 which emit working medium such as laser rays, heat rays or the like are mounted to a static body 6 such as casing, and receivers 5 which receive said working medium are mounted to a bearing 2 in the position opposing thereto. 3 or more sets of these generating sources 4 and receivers 5 are provided and the reverse rotation of a rotating apparatus is detected by the combinations of the sequence of shutting off the working medium.
