Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The optical disk 1 is put onto the turntable 2 and then turned by the servo motor 4, and the optical head 5 which performs the recording or reading of the signal to the disk 1 via the beam is provided movably by the actuator 6 at the upper part of the disk 1 and in the direction of the optical disk's radius. Furthermore, the control circuit 7 is added to give a control to start simultaneously the driving of the motor 4, the focusing action of the head 5 and the driving of the actuator 6 respectively. As a result, the accesss time can be reduced greatly, thus increasing the efficiency.
