Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the shortest distance of the tape travel and also increase the success rate of the automatic loading by means of the weight of the tape, by providing the tape exit in the 4-o'clock direction of the supply reel as well as guide side wall having the inclinations of three steps.
CONSTITUTION: The free end of the tape 47 rolled up to the supply reel 21 within the cartridge 24 goes along the guide side wall 33 by the weight of the tape and through the tape exit 48 set at the 4-o'clock position of the reel 21 and then bent vertically at the place of the tape position detector 37 to be taken up to the take-up reel 22 through the magnetic head 39. The wall 33 is formed with the vertical side wall 34, the side wall 35 having an inclination of 45° and the side wall 36 having an inclination of 20° each. In addition, the air blow-out port 49 is provided on the side surface of the tape position detector 37.
