Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent trouble, such as oxidation, decomposition, or precipitation of an effective component caused by metal ions, especially, Fe ions in the title developing solution, by adding a specified amount of one or more of gluconic acid, its derivatives, and/or their salts to said solution. CONSTITUTION:To 1 liter of a developing solution are added 8-50g of one or more kinds of gluconic acid, its derivatives, and their salts represented by the formula in which R is 1-3C alkyl optionally substituted by H, COOH, OH, OPO3H2 or the like; M is H, Na, K, Li, or other alkali metals; and n is 1-4. As a result, such trouble is prevented that hydroxylamine is decomposed by metal ions, especially Fe ions to cause deterioration of the developer, or precipitation or sludge is caused by Ca ions resulting in blocking the filter of an automatic developing machine or in polluting it.
