Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide sensitivity which is superior on the short wavelength side and also provide reproducibility which is superior in a visible light region by providing a photosensitive layer which is contained with the specific diazo compound of 9- (4-diazophenyl) carbazole.
CONSTITUTION: A charge generating layer 5 which contains the compound 3 expressed by the formula I [X is aromatic rings of benzene, naphthalene, etc. indole rings, carbazole rings, hetero rings such as benzofuran or their substituents, Ar1 is aromatic rings such as benzene rings and nephthalene rings, hetero rings of dibenzofuran, or their substituents, Ar2, Ar3 are aromatic rings of benzene, naphthalene, etc., or their substituents, R1, R2 are H, lower alkyl, (substituted) phenyl, R2 is lower alkyl, carboxyl, or their ester] is formed on a conductive substrate 1, and a charge transfer layer 6 is provided thereon.
