Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce force-fitting time of a bolt to a work hole by a method wherein there is provided an adapter between a bolt or the like and a pusher.
CONSTITUTION: When a piston rod 24 falls by the action of a cylinder 21, a pusher 25 falls with guide blocks 26, 27, strikes against the upper surface of a receiving seat 53 of an adapter 52 and pushes the adapter 52 downward. As a result of this the adapter 52 moves downward or in an axial direction against a spring 54, fits a bolt 20 by force to a hole 18 of a work 17 and makes the lower surface of the head of the bolt 20 about the upper surface of a flange 15. In such a manner, when the adapter 52 is provided between the pusher 25 and the bolt 20, the stroke of the cylinder 21 may suffice at the value which is approximately the sum total of the distance between the pusher 25 and the adapter 52, the distance between the adapter 52 and the bolt 20, and the force-fitting distance of the bolt 20. This stroke distance becomes so short that the time required for the force fit of the bolt 21 is reduced.
