Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve stablity by providing a condition maintaining mechanism between a driven clutch pawl and a housing.
CONSTITUTION: When a transmission load over a certain is increased more, a driven clutch pawl 6 interrupts power transmission by shifting a driving clutch pawl 3 in the direction of a shaft 2. A maintaining mechanism 16 which keeps a transmitted power on or off after the driven clutch 6 is changed is provided between the driven clutch 6 and a housing 1 opposed to it. A manually operated mechanism consisting of a clutch lever 18, a driving cam 19 and a control lever 20 is also provided, having no relation to the motion of the driven clutch pawl 6. In case of a transmission load over a certain value, a power transmission is automatically interrupted without fail regardless of the motion of the manually operated mechanism. If the overload is reduced, there may be no chance that a clutch is automatically engaged to transmit power unexpectedly.
