Abstract

PURPOSE: To continue a smooth operation at a plant without discontinuing the apparatus function of the control block when a trouble occurs, by installing the switching devices at the host positions of a process control device and thus securing a dynamic connection between several units of control blocks and terminal process control devices.
CONSTITUTION: A connection is given through the data transmitting device 2 between the control blocks 10A-1 and 10A-2 having a host computer and slave computer 4, and the apparatus to be controlled is controlled via the process control devices 7-1 and 7-2. The external detecting device 9 is provided to the computer 4 of the above-mentioned blocks. The output signal 23 supplied from the device 9 is supplied to the switching devices 8-1 and 8-2 provided in correspondence to the devices 7-1 and 7-2. Thus in case when either one of the station 3 and the computer 4 of the blocks 10A-1 and 10A-2 plus the transmission control device 6 has a fault, the devices 7-1 and 7-2 connected to the side of the faulty apparatus are switched to the block 10A-1 or 10A-2 of the normal side by the devices 8-1 and 8-2.
