Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The character pattern is read through the reciprocal motion of the reading head 3 and then supplied to the quantizing circuit 5. The circuit 5 converts the output of the head 3 into the digital signal to supply it to the preprocess circuit 6 and the memory part 8. The circuit 6 detects the character pattern with every character and then cuts it out to deliver it to the recognizing circuit 7. In this instant, if the recognition is rejected, the control part 9 stores temporarily the character pattern in the part 8. When the reading is over for the character pattern equivalent to one line, the part 9 supplies successively the recognition-rejected pattern within the part 8 to the circuit 6. Then the preprocess is carried out under the different conditions from the first preprocess, and the rerecognition is given through the circuit 7. As a result, the rereading can be carried out without lowering the reading efficiency although some characters have the rejection of reading.
