Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily make the connections of batch type coils, by cutting terminal ends of coils to be joined in lateral straight line, and by joining these terminal ends with an instantaneous adhesive, at the processing and treating line for the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of the preceding coil 1 and the top of the trailing coil 2 are respectively cut in a lateral straight line perpendicularly to the longitude. An instantanuous resinuous adhesive 3 is applied to at least one of above stated cut planes. Two cut planes are joined and a continuous coil is formed, which is then fed to the line. The force of adhesion can be increased by lapping two coil ends over a specified length as shown by A, or by swaging two ends into mutually fittable tapered shape B. Next, this joined part is cut and removed from the strip on the run-out side of the line, and two original coils are restored. Hereby, the connection of batch type coils to be fed to the processing and treating line can be made easily, surely and inexpensively.
