Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to assemble an apparatus into a pocket size calculator by a method wherein use of an electromagnet having many indifinite factors is stopped and all operations of type selection, typing, figure taking up and figure resetting are caried out by reversible rotation of a motor to miniaturize an apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 13 is rotated to an A direction shown by an arrow to rotate a motor pinion 15 and a selecting gear 22 is rotated to a C direction shown by an arrow through gears 16, 17, 18, 20, 21. Thereby, a clutch nail 23 is engaged with a ratchet gear 24 to rotate the first typing wheel 27 having symbols arranged on an outer periphery thereof and the second typing wheel 28 having figure arranged therearound. Synchronized to this rotation, a timing detecting plate 34 is rotated to put out a timing signal and a resetting signal and these signals are transmitted to a control circuit. After a type of the first figure is selected by this operation, a typing arm 36 is moved reciprocally and the typing wheels 27, 28 are pressed on a recording paper to carry typing. Subsequently, the figure of the typing wheels is taken up one place to carry out next typing and, thereafter, the typing wheels are returned to an original position.
