Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An alkylene di-(pyridine-N-oxide-sulfonate) of formula I (n is an integer of 3W8).
EXAMPLE: Trimethylene 1,3-di(pyridine-N-oxide-3-sulfonate).
USE: Carcinostatic agent. The hexamethylene derivative has superior offect. The conversion of an alkylene dipyridinesulfonate to an N-oxide derivative remarkably improves the activity.
PROCESS: The compound of formula is prepared by oxidizing an alkylene dipyridinesulfonate in a solvent such as chloroform, dichloromethane, etc. with an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide, pref. m-chloroperbenzoic acid.
