Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration of heat conductivity due to the coverage of a lower-staged heat conduction plate with condensed liquid at an upper stage, by a method wherein a heat conduction plate for a subject heat exchanger is formed such that two oblong plate having uneven surface are laid on the top of another with a gap provided between the two plates, an upper and a lower end are sealed, and a drain gathering conduit is mounted.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water fed through an inlet pipe 10 is discharged from an outlet 11 after passing through a gap 12 between a fluid flow pipe 8 and a heat conduction plate 4. In the meantime, the sealed vessel 1 is filled with steam from a feed port 2 of the sealed vessel 1, and the steam is condensed resulting from the heat exchange with cooling water through a heating surface 6. Condensed waterdrops drop down over the heating surface 6, and gather in a drain gathering conduit 9. The waterdrops are guided to a place where the lower-staged heat conduction plate 4 is prevented from being exposed to the waterdrops, and fall along an inner wall of the vessel 1 for discharging through a discharge port 3. As noted above, the heat conduction plate at a lower stage is kept from being exposed to the condensed liquid from an upper stage, whereby the lower- stage heat conduction plate can be prevented from deterioration of heat conductivity, and as a result, an overall heat conductivity can be improved.
