Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform a positive checking of the backward displacement of a vehicle, by a method wherein a control member of a safety device, which is positioned at a higher level than that of a positioning device checking the backward displacement of a vehicle, is located so that it can freely move in proximity to and away from a vehicle, and moves to the rear of the wheels when the vehicle inclines.
CONSTITUTION: A vehicle inclining device is constituted such that it has a stand 1 whereon freight car or the like is loaded, and dusts and the like on a vehicle bed are dropped into a pit by inclining backward the stand 1 by the use of a hydraulic cylinder after rear wheels 5 of the vehicle are positioned by means of an underframe 6. The underframe 6 is provided with a safety device 8, and thereby the backward displacement of the vehicle is prevented positively. The safety device 8 is usually at a stand by position, and a hydraulic motor 15 is actuated after the rear wheels 5 makes contact with the underframe 6. This causes the movement of a control member 20 to a position shown in a solid line through the working of a screw level 13 and a nut 16, and thus, a horizontal section 19 of the checking member 20 is placed facing opposite to the rear wheel 5.
