Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a vacuum pump and to miniaturize, conserve electric power, and reduce noise, by a method wherein a device is provided with a means which produces a negative pressure when a sucker is raised after it is lowered for adhering firmly to a sheet, and a means which releases said negative pressure after paper feeding operation is completed.
CONSTITUTION: When an inner cylinder 10 of a vacuum head D is extruded sufficiently downward from an outer cylinder 14 through the force of a spring 15, and an tip edge of a sucker 12 makes contact with an uppermost sheet A1, the vacuum head D is lowered. A sucker 12 is first bent hereupon, and a lower end of the inner cylinder 10 makes contact with the sheet A1. Lowering of an outer cylinder 14 against a spring 15 reduces the space volume of an inner chamber of the outer cylinder 14, and air at the inside thereof opens a discharge valve 18 and a negative pressure release valve 19 to be pushed out to the air. Raising of the vacuum head D causes the outer cylinder 14 to be pushed out from the inner cylinder 10, thereby the chamber of the outer cylinder is reduced in its pressure. The sucker disc 12 can thus adsorb the sheet A1.
