Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a continuous operation of cutting up mats to a predetermined length by a method wherein there are provided a pair of rollers for squeezing and deliverying the mats, a driving device capable of stopping suddenly is connected to one of the rollers, and a cutter and a mat detector are provided on the delivery side of the rollers.
CONSTITUTION: Mats 13... drawn out of mat rolls 1... are aligned at a guide wheel 2 provided at its both ends with flanges adjustable in spacing, and are restricted within a proper feeding-in position. The resulting laminated mat 13' is then squeezed and delivered by a pair of rollers 3, 4 and allowed to slide down a slanted plate 10. With the tip end of the mat 13' reached to a mat detector 11, the detector 11 generates a signal and a speed change gear unit 6 connected with a motor 7 is stopped suddenly. Simultaneously, a cutter 9 is operated to cut up the mat 13'. The cut-up mat 13" slides down onto a conveyer 12 and is transported to the next step.
